And welcome to my blog.
This is my second blog, my other blog is Beatrix and Me which is dedicated to my cycling adventures. Although, I'm a cyclist I've discovered that I don't really have much to say on the matter hence the reason I set up this blog.
My love of baking developed just over a year ago. I'd bought a book on cupcakes that had been sat on my shelf gathering dust and then on one dull Saturday morning I decided to put it to use and have never looked back!
The name of my blog was inspired by a good friend who gave me the nickname of 'Amycakes' way before I became obsessed with cakes.
I mainly bake cupcakes, but occasionally bake cookies that turn out more like slab cakes due to the expansion process in the oven...
I'm also getting into cooking more savory items so future blogs may include this as well.
